Operating pressure refers to the normal pressure that the valve body can withstand; under normal conditions it is able to handle instantaneous pressures up to 1.25 times the nominal pressure. The setting pressure is the pressure at which the valve opens – once this pressure is reached or exceeded, the safety valve will open. It is a value set by humans, but it should be within the range of the operating pressure. The activation pressure is the actual pressure at which the valve operates. Operating pressure > Setting pressure > Activation pressure
Operating pressure < set pressure < trip pressure
Operating pressure < set pressure < trip pressure
The set pressure is higher than the operating pressure but lower than the design pressure of the equipment. The set pressure, also known as the opening pressure, is an important parameter for the operation of a safety valve
The takeoff pressure is the actual operating pressure.
Poster: The “Regulations on Safety Technical Inspection of Safety Valves” clarify various concepts. Setting pressure: Also known as the opening pressure, it is the inlet pressure at which the valve disc of a safety valve begins to rise under operating conditions. At this pressure, a measurable opening height is achieved, and the medium is discharged in a manner that can be detected visually or audibly. Working pressure: It is the system pressure when the safety valve is operating normally. The operating pressure is less than the set pressure, but it’s hard to say which one is higher, whether the start-up pressure or the set pressure.
Operating pressure: The pressure under the applicable medium and temperature conditions; Set pressure: The pressure at which the valve begins to open under operating conditions, i.e., the gauge pressure measured at the valve inlet; Jump pressure > Set pressure > Operating pressure ; The specifications do not provide an explanation for the starting pressure; the safety valve will open only when the system pressure exceeds the set pressure
What is the multiple between them?
