Which standard is used for steel pipes in natural gas equipment?

I used to think that for natural gas equipment, Q345B steel pipes meeting the GB8163 standard would be sufficient, but now it is required to use those that meet the GB6479 standard. Why is that?
Some available information specifies the following requirements: for pipeline stations, when the diameter of certain steel pipes is greater than 250 mm, welded steel pipes from the PSL2 series as specified in GB/T 9711—2011 can be used; when the diameter is ≤ DN200 mm, seamless steel pipes can be employed. The standards for these seamless steel pipes must comply with the PSL2 grade specified in GB/T 9711—2011, as well as the requirements set out in GB 5310—2008, GB 6479—2013, and GB/T 8163—2008 (with the exception of GC1 category). There are restrictions on the use of pipes specified in GB8163 – they cannot be used in GC1 category pipelines; therefore, it is necessary to check the design grade of the pipelines.
