What do the cross-line in the red circle below and 5℃ mean?
Can’t see clearly; it doesn’t seem to be 5°C

Is the temperature difference between the flow meter and the valve 5 degrees?
This post was last edited by YiChuangKanFengJing╰℡ on May 28, 2017, at 19:33. Firstly, it seems that this pipeline is a medium-pressure steam pipeline (MS-12). The bypass line for the upstream manual valve (a 3/4” pipeline) serves as a preheating line. Personally, I believe that the 5°C temperature difference here represents the difference between the temperatures before and after the manual valve. During operation, if the upstream manual valve is improperly restricted in its flow rate, it can lead to a significant temperature difference, which in turn increases the likelihood of flange leaks. This point can also be inferred from the 5°C marking near the downstream control valve; in other words, the temperature difference between the flow meter and the control valve should not be too large.
What is the purpose of the pre-heating wire for that manual valve?
