1. Is the legend the same as the PID? 2. Are there specifications for the size of valves and flanges? Is it okay if the proportions are just balanced?
Be sure to draw it in proportion. It can’t be done arbitrarily, otherwise there will be conflicts or insufficient space during piping.
Regarding the size of valve symbols, I’m not aware of any regulations or standards that specify this. Based on personal experience, it’s better to make the printed length of the valves 6–10 millimeters. Some people draw them quite casually, thinking that as long as they are visible, that’s sufficient; in some cases, the length is even as low as 2–3 millimeters

A PID flow diagram is different from a layout plan. PID focuses on processes and techniques, and there is no need for proportional scaling; the other type is mainly used for piping, where proportional scaling is necessary, and the length of valves must also be accurate ； The two can be used together. In several projects I’m currently working on, the proportions of the valve flanges in the PID diagrams are well coordinated, and the floor plans show them with precise sizes and proportions
