Valve core leakage – what does that mean by leakage? The latest stop valve has been opening and closing frequently. Perhaps for this reason, the liquid came from the valve stem; since it was thought to be completely damaged, it was logically assumed that the valve core was broken. But then, was it okay to tighten the packing with a wrench? ? ? What is the reason for this? ?

The issue you’re referring to isn’t a leak in the valve core; rather, it’s the packing that has become loose due to prolonged opening and closing. Tightening the packing bolts will solve this problem. When tightening the bolts, it’s important to do so on both sides simultaneously, and avoid tightening them unevenly.
A packing gland valve compresses the packing by locking bolts directly on the gland; there are gaps between the inner diameter of the packing gland and the outer diameter of the valve stem (shaft), as well as between the valve stem and the packing hole in the valve body. This allows the valve stem to rotate without getting stuck, and there are also gaps between the bolt holes and bolts on the packing gland. Valves with this structure lack a radial positioning mechanism for the packing gland; during assembly, the packing gland is prone to radial displacement, which causes friction with the valve stem and thus increases the torque required to open and close the valve. Leakage is also likely to occur at the packing area. It should be called: gland bolt.
For bolted bonnet gate valves and globe valves, it is standard practice to tighten the nuts on the bolt bonnet by half a turn after using them for a while. Compress the filler.
