There are stop valves for the inlet and outlet of the heating/cooling medium in the reactor jacket, and the packing in most of these valves is leaking. Why is a stop valve still chosen for such designs?
The temperature is too high; metal-sealed ball valves with a high switching frequency are not recommended as they may leak. The leakage is not related to the valve selection – it’s rather a problem with the quality of the valve itself, as no consideration was given to changes in temperature

Regarding the selection of valves, especially in situations where temperatures change frequently, higher requirements are placed on sealing performance. It is acceptable to use gate valves, but only if they are of high quality; the material used for the packing is extremely important, and defective products are certainly not acceptable. Imported packing ensures reliable performance
