Is the design temperature for steam pipes determined based on the saturation temperature corresponding to the operating pressure, or the saturation temperature corresponding to the design pressure, or directly based on the rated outlet temperature of the boiler?
It should be the highest temperature that can be reached in actual operation; the valves we produce generally operate at around 400 degrees.
If it is saturated steam, it is generally the saturated steam temperature at the operating pressure plus 20 degrees; the margin for the saturated temperature at the design pressure is too small.
Take the maximum value from all your operating conditions, and it’s better to include a safety factor as well
Take the saturation temperature corresponding to the design pressure; if it comes from a boiler, the pressure and temperature at the boiler outlet can be used, taking into account a certain safety factor
