In the diagram, the two pipes are connected, with the elbows and flanges welded together directly – I’m not sure if this is correct It looks strange; at least it makes it a bit inconvenient to remove and install the bolts, right?
Theoretically, this won’t work; the welding groove of the elbow should be welded to the pipe. Then the pipe is extended into the flange for welding!
It’s not appropriate; it’s obvious that it’s a renovation project. It seems no design process was followed, and it was done by the workshop itself.
Strictly speaking, it certainly does not comply with the design specifications for pressure pipeline construction. However, this practice is quite common in actual production, usually out of convenience or because the medium involved poses a low level of risk!
Not only are the fittings and valves welded directly together, but no tee fittings are used either when connecting them to the main pipeline; it seems that holes are made directly there, and the welds are not protected against corrosion. This is generally not allowed, but as mentioned above, such practices are employed in pipelines with a lower level of risk (for water and air)

In the photos, the pipes are painted sky blue; they are usually air ducts. They operate at low pressure, at normal temperatures, and are non-toxic and harmless. The ball valves used also have a low pressure rating. To be honest, it’s better to give praise in such cases: lol
