Pipe series?

The pipe series includes A and B; for pipes of the same DN specification, the A series has a thicker wall thickness than the B series. I would like to ask which series of pipes are generally used in design work; which series is common and inexpensive? And in what situations should pipes with a thicker wall thickness be used? Depending on the owner’s requirements, specifications are usually set before a project starts; we mostly use those with a large outer diameter.
Series A is the internationally standard series (commonly known as imperial pipes), while Series B is the series used in China (commonly known as metric pipes). Generally, Series A has a larger outer diameter, whereas Series B has a smaller one.
The A series is generally used, as it is similar to the ASME standard and its various accessories are easy to obtain. The B series is used less these days; although its materials are cheaper, the procurement cost remains high when small quantities are needed, as many factories no longer have the molds for manufacturing B-series fittings
