What is the difference between flanges with water lines and flanges without water lines? Which one is better? Which type of fluorine-lined flange is better, with or without waterline? Is there any price difference between the two flanges?
The sealing performance of the purely smooth flange sealing surface is not as good as that with waterline. The current flange sealing surface has concentric water lines and spiral water lines. This changes with the development of gasket material structure. If a flexible graphite winding pad is used, smooth or spiral threaded water lines can be used. The grooves of the concentric water lines may be located exactly in the flexible graphite sealing area, affecting the sealing effect. For liners, a sealing surface with concentric water lines is more suitable.

It's definitely better to have a water line, which will help fix the gasket. Even if there is no waterline, there must be concentric shallow grooves, at least on the matching side flange. Besides, if there is a ditch, there will be fire. ;P

Fluorine-lined ones cannot have water lines. They are already lined. If they are lined with fluorine, the water lines will become even thinner and the outer ring will fall off easily.
Flat flanges generally have water lines, while neck flanges generally do not have water lines.
