May I ask, for non-metallic storage tanks such as those made of fiberglass or PP, if the bottom outlet valve is a metal valve, does it need to be supported? Are there any relevant standards?
Does it depend on the specific strength? Generally, it’s not necessary. Because the installation of brackets itself imposes stress on the tank due to temperature. Looking for standards? ? ? I don’t think I’ve seen it before.
What size of valve, and what types of valves are there? Heavier valves require support.
Based on the strength requirements, valves used are generally threaded ball valves or flanged ball valves, with no need for support. It depends on the conditions on site. I’m not sure if this can help you?
Regarding the strength requirements mentioned above, it also depends on how the valves are arranged. If the outlet pipe at the bottom goes straight downward and then turns 90 degrees via a elbow, with the valve remaining horizontal, it’s definitely better to use a support.
It’s a horizontal connection; the valve is a steel-lined ball valve. Although the connection is reinforced, it’s still a good idea to support the valve as well
