For a recent project, the user requested a theoretical calculation of the service life of high-pressure pipelines, which had not been done before. Does that senior have experience in such calculations? Could you tell me where I can find relevant information? Please give some advice! Thank you!
It’s easy to calculate, but difficult to find the relevant conditions. The main factors affecting the service life of pipelines are corrosion and the impact and friction of the fluid on the pipelines. It’s difficult to find a basis for lifespan based on just these two factors.

By conducting inspections to assess damage to the external anti-corrosion coating of the pipelines and measuring their thickness, and by using software, it is possible to predict the remaining service life of the pipelines; there are available calculation models for this purpose.
