Types of ASTM A672 welded steel pipes

I have a few relatively basic questions I’d like to ask. I see that the ASTM A672 standard only requires electrofusion welding; it does not specify whether submerged arc welding is required, nor does it make any requirements regarding whether the weld should be straight-seam or spiral-seam. I don’t see in the specifications either which type of electrofusion welding can be used or what kind of weld should be employed. So how is it generally determined? Is it based on experience? Are there any other requirements specified by ASTM or ASME? I hope the expert can help answer my questions. Thank you so much.

Those that use fusion welding are all feasible. . . Whether you use submerged arc welding, TIG welding, shielded metal arc welding, or plasma/laser welding. . .
