I have a question: when there is an eccentric reducer at the pump inlet, followed by a 90-degree elbow that connects directly to the pump inlet, should the alignment be done with the top levels or the bottoms aligned? I looked up some information, and everything mentioned a flat bottom combined with a 90-degree elbow; I still don’t understand why using a flat top wouldn’t help reduce the formation of air pockets Please give some advice.

The suction side is level at the top, while the backflow side is generally level at the bottom

The approach in the early days was to adhere to the aforementioned regulations. Improvements have been made in recent years: a flat top is used for both upward and downward movements, but drainage measures are implemented at the areas where fluid accumulates at the bottom.
