D-type gaskets vs C-type gaskets: differences in usage

HG/T20592 describes metal wound gaskets. Both Type C and Type D wound gaskets are suitable for raised-face flanges; Type C has a centering ring, while Type D has both an inner ring and a centering ring. I’m not sure what the differences are in their usage. Personally, I think the inner ring in Type D helps prevent the metal strips from coming apart, giving it an advantage over Type C. I’m not sure in what situations Type C wound gaskets are more suitable
Low manufacturing costs; costs can be appropriately reduced at lower pressures
One is cheap and the other is expensive; there are low-end and high-end versions. Type C is used for low pressures and ordinary media, while type D is suitable for any operating conditions
Note in the standards: Except for the basic type, PN63, PN100, and PN160, as well as gaskets using PTFE as the filler material, an inner ring should be used.
