Clause 8.1.3.3-b) of the draft standard GB20801.2 stipulates that: \"For GC2-grade pipes designed for low-temperature and low-stress conditions, the minimum operating temperature shall be no lower than -104°C, and the carbon steel materials allowed for use do not include carbon structural steel nor bolt materials.\" Does this mean that in the future, 10# and 20# steel will no longer be usable for low-temperature refrigeration pipes?
@OP, at this temperature, 16MnD can’t be used at all~~~ let alone 10 or 20~~~~~~~~~~
The design specifications for cold storage clearly stipulate that 10# and 20# seamless pipes should be used for ammonia refrigeration pipelines, based on conditions of low temperature and low stress.
