Calculation of water volume for flushing process water pipelines

For process water pipelines (such as chilled water, circulating water, and desalinated water pipelines), how is the amount of water required for cleaning estimated? Previously, there was no reference standard; the plan only specified that the flow rate should be greater than 1 m/s, with whether the cleaning was thorough determined by the water discharged. It is not possible to estimate the water volume. Does anyone have any materials or **standard references on this?
There are no requirements regarding water volume; however, water quality is important. Pay attention to keeping the inside of the pipes clean during installation, which reduces the need for flushing water
