The 20-ton reaction vessel uses tube-type heating to control the internal temperature. When temperature control is in progress, as the valves are opened during cooling or heating, transient pressure spikes and excessive vibration occur. How can this be resolved?
This level of vibration is acceptable, right?:)
Does the pressure gauge cause leaks due to vibration? If so, it’s absolutely not allowed. The likely reason is that there was water at a lower temperature in the heat exchanger before it was put into use; when steam entered, this caused water hammer and resulting vibrations. How is it turned on when steam is released? It should be opened gradually; once the cold water from the rear equipment has been completely drained, it can be increased step by step to the required level.
It vibrates even when cold water is introduced; the steam entry is controlled manually. Now, if the temperature inside the reactor is high, cold water is automatically introduced to cool it down, and at that time it vibrates again
Similarly. During the heating process, both steam and water are present in the heat exchanger, resulting in a saturated state; upon the entry of water, the temperature and pressure inside the heat exchanger drop suddenly, causing water hammer.
There is no steam in the heat exchanger; the temperature we maintain is around 35 degrees, and the vibration is quite severe
It is recommended to use a process flow diagram or a diagram on the DCS screen.

The steam is usually controlled manually, and vibration occurs as well. Cooling is done automatically; when the cold water valve is opened automatically, the vibration intensifies
Do vibration and pressure refer to the tube bundle or the reactor vessel?
It’s mainly the medium pipeline section – there is no vibration in the reactor and the tubes inside it
1. If there is significant vibration when cold water is introduced, it is likely that there is a leak in the steam valve; 2. What is the temperature control range of the reactor? If it’s not large, it is recommended to use hot and cold water for temperature adjustment. 3. Are all four control valves on/off valves? How thick is the pipe?
