For example, for a DN500 pipe with a design temperature and pressure of 500°C and 2.5 MPa, the wall thickness calculated using the formulas in GB150 is 8.8 mm. To ensure it matches the specifications of other pipes in the pipeline network, I chose a pipe with dimensions Φ530x12 according to the standards specified in GB/T17395. At the same time, it is necessary to create a branch pipe from this main pipe; according to the aforementioned process, a pipe with dimensions Φ406x10 was selected. In this case, a tee is required to connect the main pipe and the branch pipe. So, in accordance with the specifications of GB/T12459-2017, should a tee of type 304-Φ530x12-Φ406x10 TR GB/T12459-B be used? That is, the wall thickness of the tee and the wall thickness of the pipe should be of the same specification. Since the wall thickness of my pipes was not selected according to the ANSI/ASTM B36.10 wall thickness grades: Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140, do I need to choose the specifications of the fittings based on these grades? Sch = P/t × 1000; for the aforementioned conditions, this value is 2.5/100 * 1000 = 25. Is Sch30 sufficient? Is it necessary to use a wall thickness of Sch40 or a higher grade? Can the main pipe and the external diameter of the branch pipes in a tee be from different series? For example, if the external diameter of the main pipe is from series I while that of the branch pipes is from series II, would manufacturing this present any difficulties?

Generally, the thickness of the fittings should be the same as that of the connected pipe walls; I think it can be thicker but not thinner. Attention must be paid to the issue of misalignment between the pipes, as well as to flaw detection.
