There is an exhaust treatment project in which a section of pipeline connects the fan to the equipment; however, the fan’s outlet has a rectangular shape while the equipment’s outlet has a circular shape. Should this transition from round to square shape in the pipeline be located near the fan or near the equipment? Are there any design guidelines to refer to for the concept of a round sky and a square earth?
With the fan as the main component, large changes in the outlet pipeline directly affect the pressure of the fan. It seems there are no specific design specifications
That means the sky-circle and earth-square design should be placed near the device side. Are there any special regulations regarding the sky-circle and earth-square?
Fans also have flow and pressure limits; for ordinary small-scale fans, one can refer to examples from nearby companies, or relevant pictures from fan manufacturers are available for reference. It is generally better to have the round-sky and square-earth interface near the fan. For this, it is necessary to consider a round opening that allows for easy removal and replacement of the sealing strip; it’s better to use a square opening for permanent fixation. In any case, there must be a permanent sealing method.

Since I only deal with pipes, I’m asking the manufacturer to create a component in the shape of a circle with a square at its center that can be connected to my pipes; I don’t want to handle the design of that component myself
