I have a question for you. Has anyone encountered this situation? The bottom plate of the adjustable bracket for the compressor inlet pipeline was deformed after installation. The thickness of the steel plate was initially thinner than the support and hanger manual. After changing to the specified thickness, there was still deformation. Then we found a stress engineer to verify that there was no problem with the calculation. So I'm wondering if it's caused by other reasons, such as welding. Post-weld heat treatment is done after the bracket is in place, and then the base plate is deformed due to thermal stress. Or maybe there is no temporary support for this piece during the welding process, causing the pipe load to act on the adjustable bracket and bend the base plate. I checked on Baidu before that the bracket of the compressor nozzle needs to be installed stress-free. The specific process is not very clear. I would like to ask experienced teachers to help me. Thank you! (Although we have solved this problem on site, we still haven’t found the cause and it has always been like a knot in my heart)
If the material of the bottom plate is not considered, my personal feeling is that the stress generated during the welding of the bottom plate and the bracket causes the deformation. The thicker the tube plate, the more likely it is to be deformed when it is fully welded.
I just don’t have similar experience, so I’m not sure if it’s caused by welding.
