It is a reducing fitting of DN80*DN50. The single-line diagram indicates: ECC RED STDWT BW CS A234-WPB SMLS B16.9 SCHEDULE S-STDXS-STD. ECC RED STDWT clearly refers to an eccentric reducing fitting with standard weight; the first ‘S’ in S-STDXS-STD likely denotes thickness. But what exactly does STDXS-STD mean? Is STDXS standard plus thickened, and STD standard thickness? What do XSXS-XS mean then?
S-STDXS-STD should be S-STD * S-STD; it’s not X, but rather an asterisk or a multiplication sign.

The large and small ends are connected to the pipes; when welding, it is advisable to match them to the wall thickness grade of the pipes. That’s why there are two. S-STD: the first ‘S’ stands for SCHEDULE, which refers to the wall thickness grade; STD is short for STANDARD, meaning standard wall thickness. Your single-line diagram must include a description of the piping. The STD on the left side has a wall thickness consistent with that of large-diameter pipes (DN80) ; Small end on the right, with a wall thickness consistent with that of small-diameter pipes (DN50). Exactly, in your case both sides are STD, but with different pipe diameters; although they are both STD, the thickness may vary. For petrochemical projects, the SH3405 standard for the dimensions of petroleum chemical steel pipes, HG/T20553, or the PIPEDATA software can be used. XS, with a thicker version available. Like clothing, there are also SCH40, SCH80, etc. If there is an S after the stainless steel grade, for example: SCH10S, SCH40S.
The key is STDXS-STD; it’s unclear whether it’s STD or XS on the left side. Also, what does XSXS mean on the left side of XSXS-STD? I’m sure I wrote it correctly; thanks for letting me know.
In the form of S-STDXS-STD, it’s S-content X S-content; the X in between is not the letters XYZ – you can think of it as * or a multiplication sign. The content can be things like STD, XS, XXS, etc.
It is STD * STD; the first one is DN80 STD and the second one is DN50 STD. Although both are STD, the wall thicknesses at the two ends actually differ
S-STD * S-STD: standard wall thickness on both ends.
