Well------ I’ve encountered this issue before. Austenitic stainless steel, according to theoretical data, is non-magnetic in a vacuum environment. However, since no intervention is imposed on the ferrite during the actual heat treatment process, some degree of magnetism remains in practical applications. By normal standards, stainless steel is always subjected to solution treatment. Are you trying to say that the magnetism of the valve body is too strong? This must be addressed at the source; it is necessary to perform a demagnetization or weak magnetization treatment during casting, in order to reduce the ferrite content. Because if customers have no requirements regarding the magnetism of stainless steel products, there is no need to specifically control the ferrite content. The ferrite content can be controlled within 5% to 25%.
After solution treatment, 304 bar material does contain ferrite, although the proportion varies. Some austenitic stainless steels require a ferrite content of less than 0.6% in order to be considered qualified and corrosion-resistant.
The problem now is that the foreign-made products in my hands have absolutely no magnetism at all, while all domestic materials are magnetic – it’s awkward
That’s why loopholes arise in the regulations; as a result, people don’t strive to improve product quality but instead try hard to exploit those loopholes – and this is also a consequence of low-price competition in the market
