Should pipelines with a design pressure of less than 1 kilogram undergo hydrostatic testing?
Need to specify the medium? If it is gas, then it is not necessary; only a gas-tightness test is required. Specific media may have specific requirements
Regarding pressure testing, GB/T 20801.5-2020 adds the following clause: 9.1.1..1 (d) Pipelines that discharge into the atmosphere and are connected to it, such as vent pipes or drain pipes located after the last isolation valve, do not require pressure testing unless otherwise specified in the design.
This is basically the pipeline at the outlet of the tank’s breather valve; it’s quite large, with some sections having a diameter of DN400. The pressure is either slightly positive or slightly negative. The exhaust gases cannot be released directly; they need to be treated first. Is it possible to avoid conducting a hydrostatic test in this case? In previous projects, I’ve worked on exhaust pipelines with a diameter of DN1000, where the pressure was also low. If a hydrostatic test were to be carried out, the load associated with such large pipelines would be a problem
