What do valve sealing rings, O-rings, and stem seals refer to?
Generally speaking: 1. A sealing ring refers to a part of the sealing assembly of a valve; it is the sealing element located on the valve body’s sealing seat, and it is usually in ring shape, which is why it is called a sealing ring; 2. The O-ring is a type of sealing element used in valves; it is generally applied to the dynamic sealing areas of the valve stem packing boxes, as well as to other locations where static sealing with an O-ring is required ; 3. Valve core sealing refers to the sealing between the sealing components of a valve, such as the gate plate in gate valves or the ball in ball valves, and the valve body.

It’s a bit hard to speak! Article 6 refers to the sealing ring; the position marked in red is the O-ring. The sealing of the valve core refers to the packing, which is mentioned in Article 10.
As a supplementary note, for small-diameter seals of the moderate type, gasket sealing can generally be used; there is no need to design an O-ring seal – it can be present or absent, depending on the manufacturer’s design choices.

I would like to ask whether it is feasible to use only 316 graphite at the connection between the body cover of a 2-inch, 150-pressure fixed ball valve, without using an O-ring for sealing
