May I ask why the reference manual for the installation design of petrochemical pipelines states that the applicable temperature for GB/T 3091 (welded steel pipes for low-pressure fluid transport) is ≤200°C? If 20R or 16MnR is used as the pipe material, can the operating temperature be increased?

20R and 16MnR are two commonly used steel plate materials for pressure vessels. The 20R steel plate is similar to ordinary grade 20 high-quality steel, but it has a lower sulfur content and higher strength; its operating temperature range is from -20°C to 475°C. 16MnR is a conventional low-alloy steel plate for containers; it has moderate carbon and manganese contents, higher strength, and its operating temperature range is also -20°C to 475°C. Compared to steel pipe materials specified in the GB/T 3091 standard, these two materials possess higher strength and better heat resistance.
