On August 12, on the Wei River pipeline bridge of the Yinhanjiwei project, steel pipes with a diameter of 3,444 millimeters, produced by CNPC Boshi Pipe Industry, were being laid across the river. This is the first time in the country that large-diameter steel pipes have been laid overhead across a river. Behind this breakthrough are a series of innovative technologies providing support. The 1.23-kilometer-long Wei River pipe bridge is being laid across the river. Faced with the challenge of installing 12-meter-long, several-ton steel pipes, traditional underground installation methods prove ineffective. The specialized team at Gemstone Pipe Industry has innovated the \"pipe positioning\" technology, enabling precise control from \"queuing\" to \"proper placement\", and overcoming the technical challenges associated with using large-diameter water conveyance pipes in bridge construction. The after-sales service staff from Gemstone Pipe Industry conduct non-destructive testing on the finished steel pipes delivered to the site. To address the industry challenge of excessive cracking in ultra-large-diameter steel pipes, the company formed a dedicated research team during the development phase and overcame more than a dozen key technical challenges, including control of the forming process and modifications to the welding techniques, thereby ensuring the quality of the steel pipes. To date, the company has supplied over 2,900 steel pipes for this project, and its stable production capacity has created an innovative model for long-distance water transportation in complex terrains.
