On October 13, with the successful startup of the diesel feeding pump at Guangdong Petrochemical, the first station for the pipeline transportation of refined oil products at Guangdong Petrochemical was officially put into operation. As the first energy hub established by Sinopec in South China, the operation of this refined oil pipeline system marks the official integration of Guangdong Petrochemical’s refined oil products into the pipeline network. It creates a new logistics route for these products, linking refineries, pipelines, and sales depots, and will fundamentally reshape the pattern of refined oil supply in the surrounding area, integrating it into the region’s major energy infrastructure. The refined oil pipeline project of Guangdong Petrochemical starts from Guangdong Petrochemical, passes through the HuiLai distribution station of the pipeline network and merges into the main line of Phase II of the Zhuhai project, ultimately delivering the oil to the Huizhou Daan oil depot of CNPC. The peak annual oil transport volume is expected to reach 4.5 million tons. Its stable and efficient oil delivery capacity can effectively alleviate the pressure on Guangdong Petrochemical’s output of refined oil. Moreover, by delivering the oil directly to the Greater Bay Area in one go, it enhances the flexibility of oil distribution within this region, not only significantly shortening the supply chain but also reducing logistics costs. The deputy manager of the Storage and Transportation Department at Guangdong Petrochemical, along with process and equipment engineers, checked to confirm the valve opening degree before starting the diesel feeding pump. Li Hailin, deputy general manager of Guangdong Petrochemical, said that this pipeline terminal is not only a key node in CNPC’s energy network in South China, but also serves as both a \"buffer storage area\" and a \"transshipment station\" for refined oil products produced by Guangdong Petrochemical. It enables flexible adjustment of the oil output rate, helping to avoid production adjustments caused by high inventory levels of refined oil in refineries under special circumstances. This ensures a stable supply of refined oil in the market from the source, further improves the regional oil transportation system, and enhances the safety and stability of energy supply in South China.
