This ball valve cast steel component will be used in the Lianghekou Pumped Storage Power Station, which is currently the largest of its kind in the world and located at the highest altitude in China. The Lianghekou Pumped Storage Power Station is a crucial facility for implementing the **\"dual carbon\" strategy; it plays an important role in ensuring energy security, optimizing the grid structure, and enhancing the power supply capacity in the Sichuan and Chongqing regions. The cast steel component of this ball valve is a key part of pumped storage hydroelectric units; it consists of a large valve body, a small valve body, and a valve stem casting. The weight of a single such component exceeds 110 tons, its maximum dimensional size is 6.6 meters, and its height is nearly 4 meters. The project team made full use of simulation and multivariate regression analysis based on historical data to overcome a series of key technical challenges, including ensuring high density in large-thickness castings and achieving high-precision molding and control of large-sized ball valves, thus enabling the successful production of ball valve castings in just one attempt. All technical specifications, such as non-destructive testing, mechanical properties, and dimensional accuracy, meet the highest standards in the industry.
