Everyone is talking about the pressure testing of valves in the plant area; some of them require replacement of the packing, but it’s not possible to carry out pressure testing. How do people manage to do it then? Are there any tooling available? How was it designed? There are many different models of flanges available on site; what’s the best way to handle this? Everyone is welcome to share their opinions
It depends on how you choose to approach it. The preferred option is the previous type of pressing table, which is of the clamping type; it has a wide range of applications and provides good pressure retention. The disadvantages, of course, are its high cost and large size. The next option is the manual pressure pump, which offers similar performance; however, different sizes of valves require corresponding flanges. The downside is that these pressure pumps tend to break easily, and their ability to maintain pressure is average. Finally, there is the option of using locally available materials, such as instrument air along with matching flanges; this approach is cost-effective, but its drawback is that the pressure generated is not high.
Pressure testing platforms are not expensive these days either; products that cost just a few tens of thousands of yuan are very durable
