Is liquid brine used in the soda ash industry? What are the requirements regarding concentration?
At least the ammonia-alkali industry needs to use refined brine, but there are requirements regarding the content of impurities such as calcium and magnesium.
What is the typical concentration of saline solution? We’re considering supplying liquid brine to the two alkali producers. This would help reduce transportation costs, and we could also sell some of the water
It should be around 108tt.
How does the alkali plant treat calcium and magnesium ions? Are the costs high?
Treatment using chemical methods is not very costly.

It depends on its intrinsic quality, specifically the calcium and magnesium content. Recently, we used a batch of salt with low calcium and magnesium content; however, it consumed a lot of lime and constantly caused turbidity.
After ammonia stripping from the waste liquid generated in the ammonia-soda process, it turns into white mud. Part of this mud can be used to produce calcium chloride; however, the rest has not been recycled so far. Reportedly, the soda ash plant has now achieved zero emissions.
Oh, so it seems that selling water along with salt is still somewhat feasible
