Previously, we used a lighter-grade variety; however, it contained quite a lot of impurities, and scale tended to form easily in the preparation tanks. Later, heavy-duty sodium carbonate was used instead. During its use, black impurities (very small in size) were still occasionally found in it, and scale also formed in the preparation tank. Theoretically, heavy materials should be purer than light ones. In actual production, are there really no impurities at all? Also, the scale is presumably composed of calcium and magnesium ions. The demineralized water we used in the preparation process must be the source of these ions—they were likely introduced via sodium carbonate! Are there any sodium carbonate products with very low calcium and magnesium ion contents? (Analytical grade cannot be used for industrial production.)
First, let’s analyze what these black impurities are. Under normal circumstances, there should not be high levels of calcium and magnesium ions in soda ash. You may request an analysis report from the supplier.

There are many sources of black spots in soda ash. You can bring this up with your supplier and file a quality complaint with the soda ash plant. They’ll resolve it for you.
Nowadays, this kind of thing generally doesn’t happen in soda ash production, right? It might be a quality issue. We need to look into the supply chain and try using soda ash from another manufacturer
