Lubei Chemical’s expansion project for titanium dioxide production via chlorination process comes online 2026-05-25 13:45:41 On the evening of May 21, Lubei Chemical announced that the expansion project of its wholly-owned subsidiary Xianghai Technology, aimed at producing 60,000 tons per year of titanium dioxide through the chlorination process, has been successfully commissioned in one go; qualified products have been produced, and the facility is operating stably. It is now officially in the trial production phase. 　　According to the announcement, the project was approved by the company’s board of directors and annual shareholders’ meeting in March and April 2024, respectively. It involves an expansion of the existing production capacity for titanium dioxide produced via the chlorination process, which currently stands at 60,000 tons per year; the expansion will add another 60,000 tons per year in capacity. Once the project is operational, the company’s total production capacity for titanium dioxide produced by the chlorination method will increase to 120,000 tons per year, doubling the current capacity. 　　The company states that this project is in line with **industry policies and the company’s development plans; it helps the company strengthen its core business, further improve the circular economy industry chain, enhance the efficiency of resource utilization, and expand its production scale and market influence.
