Why do some go through a check valve first and then a gate valve?； And are there some that have a gate valve first and then a check valve? Is the order different for those on the process return line, the injection lines, and the condensate and waste discharge lines? What is the purpose of having a different order like this, and what factors need to be considered? Help needed
I think there isn’t much difference; if the check valve is at the front, a drain port needs to be added between the check valve and the gate valve.
I’m not aware of the specific operating conditions in your area, but we certainly can’t rely on the check valves here – they will definitely cause the material to flow back. You need to take into account your specific conditions in order to prevent the equipment from overheating, overpressuring, or having cross-contamination of materials; decide for yourself which valves need to be closed or opened in case of emergencies. Write an emergency response plan drill.
