From April 12 to 14, the second round of preliminary design review meetings for Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project was held at the company. Song Guanwu, Deputy General Manager of the Engineering and Materials Management Department of CNPC Group, and Zhao Yujun, Deputy General Manager of the Refining, Chemicals, and New Materials Branch, attended the meeting and delivered speeches; the company’s senior leaders who were on site also participated in the meeting. The expert group believes that the second batch of basic design elements for Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project meets the relevant standards set by ** and the industry; improvements have been made in terms of increasing the electrification level of the ethylene production units and ensuring the quality of the equipment to be introduced, and the design quality has seen significant improvement compared to the first batch of basic designs. The second batch of basic design for Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project includes a 1.2 million tons per year ethylene plant (including hydroprocessing of cracked gasoline and oxidation of spent alkali), 270,000/600,000 tons per year propylene/styrene (including ethylbenzene) plants, an 180,000 tons per year butadiene extraction plant, 100,000/60,000 tons per year MTBE/butene-1 plants, and a 400,000 tons per year aromatic extraction plant. This review meeting involves the largest number of units and the highest estimated cost among all 7 rounds of reviews for this project. The ethylene plants included in it represent the key components of the entire project’s implementation, so this review meeting is a crucial milestone in the project’s progress. It is essential for carrying out the procurement of long-term-use equipment as planned, and it holds great significance for advancing the construction of the project.
