Sinopec has been granted an invention patent for “A method and system for producing low-carbon olefins through catalytic cracking”. August 27, 2025: According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec has received an invention patent grant; the title of the patent is “A method and system for producing low-carbon olefins through catalytic cracking”, with the patent application number CN202211414725.6. The date of grant was August 12, 2025. Patent Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for producing low-carbon olefins via catalytic cracking. The method includes: (1) bringing feed oil into contact with a first catalyst in a downward-flow reactor to carry out a first catalytic cracking reaction, thereby obtaining a first oil mixture ; (2) Bring the first reaction oil gas into contact with the second catalyst in an upward-flow reactor to carry out a second catalytic cracking reaction, thereby obtaining a second oil mixture ; (3) The second oil mixture is separated to yield the second reaction gas oil and the second raw catalyst; the second reaction gas oil is then separated to obtain low-carbon olefins. In the method and system for producing low-carbon olefins via catalytic cracking according to the present invention, the feed oil and the first catalyst first enter a downward-flow reactor to undergo a first catalytic cracking reaction, and then proceed to an upward-flow reactor where a second catalytic cracking reaction takes place at a higher temperature; in particular, the exit temperature of the upward-flow reactor is controlled to be 10–100°C higher than that of the downward-flow reactor, thereby significantly improving the yield and selectivity of low-carbon olefins.
