I’m asking the experts. The starting methods for reciprocating compressors are jog start and long press start. What is the difference between these two, and what benefits do they bring to the engine unit?
Jogging is primarily used for starting the unit manually the first time after its installation, after major repairs, or after troubleshooting to check for any abnormal noises or impacts. Press and hold: This is used when the unit is in good standby condition and needs to be switched over or started normally. Whether starting via a single press or by holding down the button, the person responsible for starting must remain at the control panel to prevent any accidents and to be able to shut down the unit promptly; only after normal operation can they leave.
A short press is for debugging to check for any abnormalities, while a long press enables normal startup!
Spot starting, also known as trial starting, involves starting the machine unit after installation, major repairs, or troubleshooting to check for issues such as abnormal noises or impacts. The machine stops instantly, which prevents significant damage to its components or assembly gaps in case there are problems. Long press, also known as normal startup, is the start of the compressor after confirming that there are no issues following a momentary start. Whether starting via a single click or a long press, the operator must remain at the control panel to ensure that the machine can be stopped promptly in case of any unexpected situations. Prevent major mistakes from occurring.
