It is understood that currently, there are around 200 flue gas turbines in operation at various refineries in the country, generating annual energy-saving benefits of nearly 8 billion yuan; 90% of these benefits come from Bohai Equipment Petrochemical Equipment Company. The 2.04 million tons per year K-COT-based propylene production project by Jingbo Petrochemical, along with its supporting facilities, is located in the Boxing Chemical Industry Park within the Boxing Economic Development Zone in Shandong Province. The project is estimated to cost 5,172.42 million yuan. It will primarily make use of the existing resources at Jingbo Petrochemical, such as liquefied gas, various types of naphtha, raffinate oil, distillate oil, and various types of diesel, to carry out processing activities and develop petrochemical projects aimed at producing chemical products such as propylene, propane, dry gas, and triphenyl. The K-COT propylene production plant in this project has a raw material processing capacity of 2.04 million tons per year; it is equipped with a hydrogenation unit with a processing capacity of 600,000 tons per year, and an aromatic extraction unit with a capacity of 550,000 tons per year. The K-COT unit is the key facility in Kyobo Petrochemical’s project for transforming old into new energy sources; its construction plays a crucial role as a link between different stages, representing a new breakthrough in oil refining technologies. On November 5, 2020, Bohai Equipment Lanzhou Petrochemical Equipment Company received a notice of award from its strategic partner, Shandong Jingbo Petrochemical Co., Ltd., for the supply of steam turbines for the production of propylene using the K-COT process, with a capacity of 2.04 million tons per year; the company successfully won the bid for this project. On May 16, 2021, Bohai Equipment Petrochemical Equipment Company completed the comprehensive and systematic design of the flue gas engines for a client in Shandong’s 2.04 million tons per year K-COT propylene production project, a task that took two months to finish. This is the first high-reliability flue gas turbine in China, with an inlet temperature of 721 degrees Celsius, marking another significant step forward in the research and development of flue gas turbines by Bohai Equipment Petrochemical Equipment Company. On the afternoon of December 14, 2022, the KYL10000A type flue gas turbine used in the K-COT catalytic olefin production process was successfully tested in a single attempt, in the presence of the test personnel from Bohai Equipment Lanzhou Petrochemical Equipment Company, as well as the users and the design institute. This success earned high praise from the users. The successful trial run of this smoke extractor represents a solid step forward for the products of Bohai Equipment Lanzhou Petrochemical Equipment Company in adopting new petrochemical processing methods, laying a good foundation for entering new markets.
