Adjustment of the thrust clearance in compressor units or turbine units

As the title suggests, how do I adjust the thrust clearance? By adding shims? Primary promotion or secondary promotion? It would be great if someone could share some pictures of thrust bearing disassembly.
It mainly depends on whether you adjust the main thrust or the secondary thrust

Adjusting the primary or secondary impeller is mainly determined by the position of the rotor impeller within the casing.
