Bentley and ESD? ? ?

Could some experienced experts tell me which one, Bentley or ESD, is used to determine cascades? Are the interlock signals for the unit provided by ESD, or directly by Bentley? ? ? The leader said that ESD is just a display. . . Seek a rebuttal!

Who will decide on the chain, Bentley or ESD? The vibration displacement signal is used to determine high-high interlocks in modules 40 or 42 of the Bentley 3500; from there, it is sent to the ESD via relay modules, which in turn triggers the unit shutdown interlock.
So in other words, ESD is just a display, and it is Bentley that handles both the interlock decisions and the execution of the interlock signals?
So does ESD only serve a display purpose?
3500 performs the detection and judgment; ESD merely receives the signals from 3500 to display alarms or trigger a shutdown
