A new 10,000V explosion-proof motor with 280kW capacity has been installed – is it necessary to apply lubricant before using it? The motor was manufactured within the past year; it has a grease filling port and a sampling port at the bottom. Please ask an experienced technician for guidance!

From personal experience, it is necessary to change the oil: open the bearing cover, clean out the existing lubricant, and then add new lubricant. Main purposes: 1. Prevent the existing grease from deteriorating, which could affect lubrication ； 2. The newly added grease may undergo a chemical reaction with the existing grease, affecting lubrication.
