The combined compressor for fresh hydrogen/circulating hydrogen shares one motor and casing; its different cylinder sections operate independently – there is a fresh hydrogen section and a circulating hydrogen section. It cannot be serviced individually; both sections must be shut down at the same time. This type of compressor has been widely used in the S-ZORB units of various oil refineries in China, and it is a mature design.
Currently, in domestic hydrogenation plants, many facilities use combined models of recycle hydrogen and fresh hydrogen compressors; these are generally imported brands such as PB and Delaiselan. It occupies little space and has low energy consumption, but according to the workshop staff, it is slightly complex to operate.
