Essential difference between TTV and TV valves in steam turbines
TV: High-pressure main steam valve. TTV valve: Quick-shut valve. TV refers to the high-pressure automatic main steam valve; its full English name is sometimes referred to as throttle valve, and at other times as total valve. In my understanding, these two terms refer to the same valve
In my opinion, the two valves can be considered as follows: one is a pre-valve attached to a control valve that features rapid shut-off; the other is the control valve itself. The TTV can be closed quickly but can only be opened manually, while the TV valve allows for adjustment of the opening degree
