After the main fan has been shut down for an extended period of time, when performing regular manual 180° rotation of the fan, is it necessary to start the lubrication pump to supply lubricant before carrying out the rotation?
Shouldn’t the main fan and the auxiliary fan serve as backups for each other? When the auxiliary fan is activated, the main fan should start automatically, and the lubrication pump should also be in operation. If it does not start automatically, the lubricating oil pump should be started before turning the shaft after a long period of shutdown.
The oil should be drained first, then the machine should be turned over. Our standby unit runs the oil pump once on Mondays and Thursdays. Specific procedure: On Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00, start the lubricating oil pump of the standby unit and keep it running until 15:00; after rotating the engine, shut down the lubricating oil pump.

It is not permissible not to start the oil pump for cranking.
