Questions regarding the operation of the exhaust valve at large-unit fuel stations

Dear colleagues from HAIYO, in the lubricating oil stations of large-scale units, multiple exhaust valves have been installed for oil filling and exhaust purposes. It is not clear whether these valves are normally open or normally closed, as there are inconsistencies in various process diagrams; we kindly ask you to clarify this matter. Previously, everything was turned off once exhaust was complete. Now, some PID diagrams show that the exhaust valves for the standby coolers, filters, and accumulators are kept open, while those in use are closed. Is there any basis for this? Taking the lubricating oil filter as an example, the exhaust valve of the filter in the operating group is closed! The exhaust valve of the filter in the standby group is kept open, and the oil filling valves of the two filters are slightly open to ensure normal oil flow in the filter of the standby group!

Yes, in the past the oil in the spare filter was cold, and over time there was no certainty regarding the quality of that oil
