The current situation is as follows: A fan needs to be installed on the roof of the laboratory building. Since there is no foundation or suitable spot for installing bolts on the roof, placing the fan there directly likely does not meet the requirements. However, it is not clear what the proper way to do this is, how it should be carried out, and which regulations are violated. Dear sea friends, let’s discuss: 1. The main concern is not damaging the roof waterproofing. The former is troublesome; adding a foundation destroys the original waterproofing, requiring everything to be redone. The latter is not simple either; although holes can be drilled for repair, it cannot guarantee 100% effectiveness, and there is still a risk of leakage. 2. Check the size of the fan; if it’s not large, a cantilever can be extended from the side wall on the roof, in a manner similar to that of an air conditioner outdoor unit. 3. Consider the exhaust conditions; if axial flow exhaust is sufficient to meet the requirements, it’s simpler. Just make a hole in the side wall directly.
