Swing plate axial piston pumps generally use a mechanism in which the cylinder block rotates, with flow control achieved through end faces. The end face of the cylinder block is fitted with a friction pair composed of a bimetallic plate and a steel oil distribution plate, and since a planar oil distribution method is used in most cases, maintenance is relatively straightforward. The oil distribution plate is one of the key components of an axial piston pump. During operation, on the one hand, the high-pressure oil in the working chamber pushes the cylinder body toward the oil distribution plate; on the other hand, the pressure of the oil film between the oil distribution plate and the cylinder body generates a hydraulic counterforce that pushes the cylinder body away from the oil distribution plate. The design hydraulic compression force Fn exerted by the cylinder block on the fuel distribution plate is slightly greater than the hydraulic counterforce Ff exerted by the fuel distribution plate on the cylinder block; that is, Fn/Ff = 1.05–1.1, which ensures proper operation of the pump and maintains a high volumetric efficiency.
