What is the difference between a maintenance box and a wiring box?

Issues with electrical connections: motors connected to cables. What is it called at the site – a maintenance box or a wiring box? I’m not an electrical engineering specialist, so I don’t quite understand the differences between them. Could you please explain? How many motors’ cables can a junction box generally connect?
The junction box is not permitted to be used for other wiring purposes, while the maintenance box can be used for other purposes
