I would like to ask: in your factory, if a centrifugal ventilation fan is not equipped with a coupling but is connected directly to the motor, and there are no bearings at the fan impeller – the impeller being located within a sealed air chamber – then the overall operating condition of the fan can only be determined by monitoring the vibration of the motor. In such a case, who is usually responsible for regularly monitoring and assessing the vibration trends of the motor: the mechanical engineering team or the electrical engineering team?
Regular monitoring is the responsibility of those working on shift, while it is the role of the mechanical engineering team to assess the trends based on that monitoring (the purpose of monitoring is to ensure the stable operation of the equipment, so it makes more sense for the mechanical engineering team to make such judgments)
Monitoring in the field of motor vibration mechanics is more appropriate
In our factory, the maintenance of motors is the responsibility of the electrical department; motor bearings also fall under the scope of their responsibilities. If there is a problem with the motor bearings, it is usually the electrical technicians who are responsible for replacing them. The mechanical team at most removes the fan blades connected to the motor and assists the electrical staff in making the replacement. Since the responsibility lies with the electrical department, the mechanical team is reluctant to get involved in monitoring motor vibrations, as they will still be held accountable if something goes wrong. Moreover, if the mechanical team detects any early signs of problems with the motor bearings and needs to replace them in advance, they must inform the electrical department. Since the electrical staff are already very busy, following the principle of \"it’s better to do less than to do more,\" the mechanical team is not inclined to participate in monitoring motor vibrations
