Help: I’m using two vertical single-stage centrifugal pumps, but they keep shutting down unexpectedly. I’ve applied lubricant to the motor bearings. Does this type of pump experience motor overheating and current overload due to excessive load? We use 11KW explosion-proof motors and pumps from Shanghai Kaiquan. Is there any issue with installation regarding the fact that the frame on which our pumps are mounted is on the fourth floor, while the water tank is on the same floor?
What is the flow rate and head of the pump? What is the pressure difference at the inlet and outlet when you start the pump? Operation at high flow rates can also cause overload
First, it is necessary to determine whether it is an inherent equipment issue or one that results from external factors. Congenital issues are more likely to be design-related, while acquired issues require disassembly and a step-by-step inspection of wear in various parts. If everything is normal, then the cause must be sought in the materials. For example, check whether the impurity level of the materials has changed, and finally verify the correctness of the operating procedures.
When the pump is started, the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the pump is 0.2 MPa
The material in question is water; now there are suspicions about an installation issue, but there is no solid evidence for it
Knowing it’s a installation issue, it needs to be disassembled and reassembled. It might be a problem with gap adjustment.
We haven’t encountered any issues with the current, but the motors in certain areas keep overheating
